John Klein
Software Engineering Institute Alum
John Klein is an SEI alumni employee.
During his 18 years as a member of the technical staff at the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute, Klein contributed to and led research and consulting projects across a range of application domains, including modernization and cloud migration of military and civil systems, interoperability and automation of command-and-control systems, scientific software, financial trading platforms, big data analytics, electronic healthcare records, and individual and organization competence.
Before joining the SEI, Klein was a chief architect at Avaya, Inc., where he focused on communication analytics and multimodal agents, and an architect at Quintus, where he designed the first integrated multichannel contact center product. Klein was also a technical director at Raytheon, where he developed hardware and software solutions for radar signal processing and multispectral image processing.
Klein holds a BEng from the Stevens Institute of Technology, an MEng from Northeastern University, and a PhD in Computer Science from VU University Amsterdam.
