Abstract
Crucible is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered, open source application framework for rehearsing Operations in the Information Environment (OIE)—integrating cyber, social, and cognitive dimensions to prepare forces for modern warfare where adversaries target both networks AND narratives. Since 2018, Crucible has effectively enabled large-scale Department of War (DoW) cyber exercises to increase operator performance. Crucible is now available to the public under open source licensing.
