David Thompson
Deputy Director and COO
David Thompson currently serves as the SEI's Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer and oversees and directs internal and external business operations for the organization.
A long-time resident of Western Pennsylvania, Thompson started his career in the banking industry, first in retail banking and then in computing operations. Prior to joining the SEI in 2004, he worked for ALLTEL Information Services (now FIS Global), where he served on the leadership team of one of ALLTEL's three North American data centers.
Thompson earned a BA from Cedarville University, an MA from the University of Dayton, and an MBA from Robert Morris University. He is also a member of Leadership Pittsburgh XXXI and serves on two local nonprofit boards. In 2016, the Pittsburgh Technology Council recognized Thompson as CIO of the year for organizations with less than 1,000 employees.
