About the Speaker

Roman Danyliw is the Technical Director of the CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC) in the CERT division at the Software Engineering Institute located at Carnegie Mellon University. Danyliw directs applied research and development for the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and the Intelligence Community in support of their cyber operations.

Previously, Danyliw was an analyst with the CERT/CC where analyzed security incidents and vulnerability in concert with industry and government partners to assess the scope of events, understand current threats, and identify best practices for system and network administration. In the course of this work, Danyliw contributed to various open source network instruction detection systems and to standardization efforts in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
